Brotherhood Survey
Brother Jeff Butcher has put together a survey to help us understand our strengths, as well as the areas where we have room to grow. It's a simple process, won't take you ten minutes, and it can give us valuable information if you take the time to complete it before the Triennial in June. to open a new page with the survey. Thanks!
Our circle can’t be broken!
Brotherhood meets in Nashville June 20-24
By Jim Goodson
NASHVILLE – The Grand Old Opry’s penultimate question – will the circle be unbroken? – Yes, it will be resoundingly answered by the Brotherhood of St. Andrew June 20-24.
Our circle can’t be broken!
The Brotherhood’s 129-year-old men’s ministry will be affirmed and strengthened by its four-day Triennial in Music City. Events include formulating a new three year plan led by our president Bob Dennis and a visit from our ministry partner with the Lutheran Men in Mission, which expands the Brotherhood circle.
LMM Executive Director Doug Haugen will share success stories from his organization, the men’s ministry of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. The Episcopal Church and the ELCA have been in full communion for 10 years now.
Come and See, a Call to Discipleship
We are all disciples of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and I am sure you will agree with this statement. However, if we do not accept the fact that we are disciples, maybe then we need to find out why we feel differently. A disciple is, simply put, a follower, a believer and a student of Jesus Christ. What He preached, what He stood for and what He did for us by dying on the Cross are fundamental to this belief.
The theme for this year’s Triennial Convention will be “Come and See, a Call to Discipleship”. This will be our main focus for planning for the next three years, and what we believe our ministry to men calls us to do for discipleship. This is crucial to the Brotherhood of St. Andrew’s existence and growth for the future as a ministry. This issue of the St. Andrew’s Cross highlights the upcoming 2012 Triennial Convention to be held in Nashville, Tennessee from June 20th to the 24th.
A Call To Communicate
The Brotherhood of St. Andrew needs to use every possible way to communicate its message of bringing men and youth to Christ, VP for Public Relations and Communications Jeff Butcher told the 48 men attending the National Council meeting June 23.
“Our growth potential is enormous,” Brother Butcher said. “The Brotherhood represents less than three percent of the male population of The Episcopal Church. We are miniscule in the grand scheme.
